Twenty years in the making
Built by hand, one board at a time
Louie and Diane Herrick have spent about twenty years turning a patch of ground on the west edge of North Platte into Lincoln Highway RV Park — and then spent two more years building the Last Chance Bar & Grill next to it, doing most of the work themselves.
They're still at it. New shade structures, a beer garden, an event hall — if something needed building, Louie built it. What they ended up with is a pine-walled room with a long steel bar, a wall of self-pour taps, keno and skill games, and enough floor for a full crowd when a band is playing.
Campers walk over. Locals drive out. Everybody ends up at the same tables.
The tap wall
Pour it yourself. Pay by the ounce.
No waiting on a bartender, no committing to a full pint of something you've never tried. Grab a card, walk the wall, and pour exactly as much as you want — a two-ounce taste or a full glass, it's up to you.
Check in at the bar
Show your ID and pick up a tap card. One card per person — it's how the wall knows who's pouring.
Read the screens
Every tap has a screen above it with the beer, the style, the ABV and the price per ounce. Taps are numbered so they're easy to find again.
Tap and pour
Hold your card to the reader, tilt your glass, and pull the handle. The meter counts your ounces as they go.
Settle up once
Pour as many times as you like through the night. Hand the card back at the bar and pay for exactly what you poured.
